Privacy Policy
Privacy isn't a feature we bolt on - it's the reason our apps run on your device instead of in someone's cloud.
Our apps
IBC Partners apps are designed to run entirely on your own Mac or iPhone. As a rule, our apps do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data, your files, your browsing, or your email to us or to any third party. The intelligent features are powered by Apple Intelligence and the Apple Neural Engine, which run locally on your device.
One exception is worth naming: Apple's Writing Tools (an optional, user-initiated feature where available) operates on the text you select and may, for longer or more complex requests, process that selected text using Apple's Private Cloud Compute rather than fully on-device. This is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy terms - never by us - and only when you choose to use it. See the jFile NLP privacy policy for details.
A second exception: if an app offers an optional bug report (such as jBrowse's "Report a Bug"), a report you choose to send is delivered directly to IBC Partners - never to a third party - to help us diagnose and fix the problem. It includes diagnostic details (for jBrowse, information such as the current page address and recent in-app logs) and includes your name or email only if you add them in the form.
Specifically, our apps:
- Do not require an account, login, or registration
- Do not include analytics, usage tracking, or telemetry
- Do not sync your data to a cloud service operated by us
- Keep your content on your device, under your control
App-specific policies
Some apps have a detailed privacy policy covering the permissions they request (for example, file access or network connections):
Where an app connects to a service you choose - such as a mail server in jMail, or a remote drive in jFile - your credentials are stored locally (in the system Keychain where applicable) and used only to connect to the service you specified.
This website
This website is plain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. It sets no tracking cookies and runs no third-party analytics. If you use the contact form, the information you submit (your name, email, and message) is sent so we can reply to you, and is used only for that purpose.
The App Store
Our paid apps are sold through Apple's App Store and Mac App Store. Purchases, payment, and any associated data are handled by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy - IBC Partners does not receive your payment details.
